Description

An elegant trail.

Some have known it and remember it, all have acclaimed it: this pretty flower announcing the beginnings of summer is particularly suitable for ladies of great elegance...

A little history ?

In mythology, the god Apollo is said to have created lily of the valley in order to provide his nine barefoot nymphs with a soft, fragrant carpet on which to walk. The lucky sprig of lily of the valley has often been associated with the Madonna, the tears shed by the Virgin Mary at the foot of the cross would have given birth to lily of the valley flowers in the shape of white bells. The Christian legend also tells the story of Saint Leonard, a hermit who took refuge in the forest and had to fight against a dragon. As he emerged victorious from the battle, it is said that the drops of blood he poured there gave rise to thrush feet. This legend would partly explain the belief that lily of the valley would bring good luck. The Celts already attributed good luck to this plant: its flowering meant the return of spring and the abundance of nature. In the Middle Ages May was the month of marriages, called at that time "accordailles". Tradition dictated that a bouquet of lily of the valley be hung on the door of the beloved, the whiteness of the flowers of which symbolized purity. During the Renaissance, in the French countryside, it was customary to offer lily of the valley to drive away the difficulties of winter. On May 1, 1560, passing through one of his Duchies, King Charles IX was offered a sprig of lily of the valley. Pleasantly surprised, he decided to take up this tradition at court the following year by offering the ladies a sprig of lily of the valley as a lucky charm: the custom thus quickly acquired its letters of nobility.

Glazing is an old and traditional manufacturing process where the action of cold allows the perfume to be fixed on superfine alcohol. The olfactory principles, essential oils or perfuming compositions used in our old-fashioned frozen eaux de toilette come in subtle combinations to offer everyone exclusive scents, to be worn by women or men.

Made in Provence.

These may be molecules naturally present in essential oils, for example. These very complex names can sound scary even when it comes to elements from natural products.
