The family business begins with Francis Laget
Although his studies in law and history did not prepare him for the profession he would exercise all his life, that of the "Drugs and Spices" trade, he nevertheless entered it in 1946 through the interplay of family relations in the oldest herbalist's house in Marseille, that of the Planchon Brothers, created under Napoleon III.
The activity in the profession of "Drugs and Spices" (meaning "Simple drugs", these natural substances used in the preparation of medicines) was curiously practiced only by men trained on the job, like all the real old trades.
In 1969, with his family of 7 children, he followed the Ducros company to Buis les Baronnies. It is as a direct actor, that he personally participates in the creation of the famous mixtures
“Herbs of Provence”.

Heir to the family know-how in the service of Herbalism, Bernard Laget was the first to share a real passion, He is the initiator of mail order sales.
From the age of 16, Bernard Laget began as a collector of medicinal and aromatic wild plants with thyme, cypress balls, centaury, lavender, intended for pharmaceutical laboratories for the preparation of medicines.
From picking to essential oil, it is by practicing distillation according to traditional processes, that he acquires and masters this true alchemy of plants that is aromatherapy.
