Infusion or decoction?

Infusion or decoction?

It is under the action of the heat of the water that the plants release all their active ingredients, softening the plant fiber and causing their outer envelope to burst.

Infusion or decoction (unlike dry extracts, capsules, etc.) are the most authentic, but also the most effective means of benefiting from the virtues of plants.

DECOCTION:

It is the action of boiling a plant in water to extract the active ingredients (roots, barks, stems, fruits, berries, seeds)

Put the plants in cold water, bring to the boil, let simmer for 10 to 20 minutes, then, after stopping the heat, leave to infuse for 10 minutes before removing them.

Note: you have to take into account the difference in the volume of water to boil and the quantity to drink. The decoction evaporates and therefore reduces the volume of water.

(As an example, 1.5 liters of water boiling for 10 to 15 minutes only gives about 1 liter of decoction)

INFUSION:

Action of infusing (or macerating) a plant (flower or leaves, fragile aerial parts) in boiling water to extract the active ingredients.

Put the plants in boiling water, turn off the heat, cover, then leave to infuse for 5 to 10 minutes before removing them.

Infusions and decoctions can be drunk hot or cold, with or without a little honey, but must be consumed within 24 hours of preparation.

Preservation of the slopes:

On our sachets are a DLUO (optimal use-by date) specifying the duration during which you can use your product in an optimal way. To do this, the plants must be kept away from light, dust, air, heat and humidity . Prefer a kraft paper bag or a glass jar stored in a cupboard (some plants react badly to contact with metal).

A MATTER OF TRUST:

Our infusion plants are the pure product of cultures that respect the earth and people. They are picked in the wild by specialists in defined areas far from sources of pollution. They are mostly French and organic, but mostly come from the best terroirs for each one. We favor close and lasting partnerships in order to help promote local production and gain recognition for the quality of craftsmanship.
